TAI was established as a joint
\nventure by Turkish and foreign
\nshareholders in 1984 for the coproduction
\nof F-16 aircraft in Turkey. In
\ntheyear 2005, theTurkishsidepursued
\na mid-term investment strategy, and
\nacquired the shares of the foreign
\npartner, which was followed by a
\nrestructure to buildthestepstoward a
\n\u201cWorld Brand Aerospace Company.
\n\u201dIn 2005,aftertheacquisition of foreign
\nshares and consolidation, investment
\nfor engineeringtodeveloptheirown IP
\nand seeking broader international
\ncollaborations were initiated. TAI has
\nstarted workingin an increasingscale
\nwith all the major OEM\u2019s in
\naerostructures, executing complex
\ndesign and manufacturing processes,
\nstarted to extend the capabilities like
\nmodernization and mission conversion
\nprograms (C-130, T-38, Black Hawk
\nand Cobra Avionics Modernization,
\nF-16 Modernization, AEW&C and
\nMPA\/MSA mission conversions), and
\nfinally had the capability to design,
\ndevelop and manufacture own
\nproducts like ANKA UAS, H\u00dcRKU\u015e
\nNew Generation Trainer, T129 ATAK
\nhelicopter and even the observation
\nsatellites.
\nTAI\u2019s annual revenue increased
\nnearly 10 times to more than 900
\nmillion US$, the number of employees
\nincreased 2 times to 4.500 in the past
\n10 years. To cope with the rapid growth,
\nStrategic Business Units in accordance
\nwith the field of activities such as
\nAircraft, Helicopter, Aerostructures,
\nUAV Systemsand Space Systems
\nwere established to increase the
\neffectiveness in management and
\nproduct development.
\nThe steps to OEM status were
\ntaken in the recent years with ANKA
\nMedium Altitude Long Endurance
\n(MALE) and H\u00dcRKU\u015e New
\nGeneration Trainer Aircraft programs.

\nfor 10 additional systems of ANKA-S
